Hindus own Big Slaughterhouses
Gauhatya (cow slaughter) is not just an issue, it is a question of our faith and belief. The cow has the status of Goddess in Hindu religion. Within the cow, the abode of Gods has been considered in our religious texts. Cows are specially worshiped on the occasion of Govardhan Puja, on the second day of Deepawali and they are adorned from peacock feathers etc. According to the Puranas, it is believed that all the deities inhabit in the cow. Tormenting cow in any form is considered a grave sin. To kill her is like opening the door to the hell, where many lives have to suffer. According to Atharva Veda, 'Dhenu Sadanam Rainnam' i.e. cow is the main source of prosperity. Cow is a sign of prosperity and profusion. It is the source of the nurturing of creation. She is mother. Many types of products are made from cow's milk. Fuels and composts are obtained from dungs. Medicines and fertilizers are made from urine.
The cow is not so worshipful that it gives milk and its existence meets our social fulfillment. Actually, according to the fact, the soul finally becomes a cow after taking birth in 84 lakhs Yoni (types of bodies). The scientists say that the cow is the only creature that inhales oxygen and releases oxygen only. While all creatures including humans inhale oxygen and release carbon dioxide.Trees and plants carry out reverse process of it. The cow's meat, which is called beef, everyone who sells or eat beef should abstain from it. What to do when the beef sellers themselves are related to Hindu religion?
A sensational report of Mr. Pramod Malik (BBC dot work) has been published in BBC (Hindi). This report is available in this regard. In the last few days, some slaughterhouses have been closed in Uttar Pradesh.
The government says it was being run illegally. When issue of slaughterhouses surfaces, common people make a perception that persons of a particular religion and class are involved in this profession without knowing the reality. You would be surprised to know that 10 big beef exports of India belong to the Hindu community. According to the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), a body of Ministry of Commerce, GOI, owners of 10 slaughter houses out of 74 in the country, belong to the Hindu community.
The country's largest abattoir is situated in Rudram village in Medak district of Telangana. Spread over 400 acres, Satish Sabharwal is the owner of this slaughterhouse. This abattoir runs Al Kabir Exports Pvt. Ltd. This abattoir is run by Al Kabir Exports Pvt. Ltd. From the headquarters located at Nariman Point, Mumbai, it exports beef to many Middle East countries.
It is also India's largest beef exporter and has offices in several Middle East cities. Suresh Sabharwal, Chairman Al Kabir Middle East told the BBC in the conversation on the phone from Dubai office- Religion and business are two different things and both should not be seen together. If any Hindu remains in beef business or any Muslim lends money on interest, what is the problem? Al Kabir had a business of about Rs 650 crore last year.
Sunil Kapoor is the owner of Arabian Exports Pvt. Ltd. It has its headquarters in Mumbai's Ashir Mansions. The Company exports the meat of the sheep also besides beef. Its board of directors includes Viratan Nagnath Woodchule, Vikas Maruti Shinde and Ashok Narang.
Madan Abbott is the owner of MKR Frozen Food Exports Pvt. Company's headquarters is in Delhi. The abattoir of Abbott Cold Storage Pvt. Ltd is situated in Samgauli village in Mohali district of Punjab. Its director is Sunny Abbott.
Anil Sood, owner of Alnnur Exports. This Company's office is in Delhi. But its abattoir and meat processing plant is in Shernagar village of Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. Apart from this, they have plants in Meerut and Mumbai also. Its second partner is Ajay Sood. This company was established in 1992 and it exports beef to 35 countries.
Abattoir of AOV Exports Pvt. Ltd. is in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. Its director is O. P. Arora. This Company has been working since 2001. Company's headquarter is in Noida and Abhishek Arora is director of AOV Agro Foods. Plant of this company is in Mewat's Nooh.
Kamal Verma is director of Standard Foods Exports Private Limited. S Kumar is director of PN Products Exports. Slaughterhouse of Ashwini Agro Exports is in the Gandhi Nagar of Tamil Nadu. Company's Director K. Rajendran departs religion from business. He says that religion is a private thing and it should not be associated with his business at all. Sunny Khattar, partner of Maharashtra Foods Processing and Cold Storage, also believes that religion and business are different things, it is wrong to combine both. He says - I am a Hindu and I am in Beef business, so what has happened? There is no evil in it if any Hindu is in this business. I did not become a bad Hindu by doing this business.
Apart from this, there are many such companies of Hindus which are working only in the field of beef export. They do not have abattoir but they process, pack and export meat. Kanak Traders is such a company. Its proprietor Rajesh Swamy said that there is no discrimination between Hindus and Muslims in this business. People of both religions work together. There is no excuse for anyone being a Hindu. They also say that if slaughterhouses are closed then both Hindus and Muslims will meet loss. We believe that whether it be beef or pork (pig meat) neither should it be consumed nor its business. Most Indians refrain from these two.
The beef should be banned. Cow slaughter should be stopped, no matter whoever is involved.

Muslims scared of Yogi; have patience, be hopeful
Yogi Adityanath, having firebrand Hindu leader image has taken over the command of Uttar Pradesh. While there is usually an atmosphere of cheer and hope about Yogi, Muslims are anxious what will happen next? The community is afraid of Yogi's image. With the swearing in some Muslim fanatics have just started frightening the muslim community. While at present we don't see any reason for doing this. Undoubtedly Yogi has an image of intensive Pro-Hindu but in his first address after swearing in he has talked of taking everyone without any discrimination and it should be trusted. Pleasantly several Muslim intellectuals have come forward to relieve anxiety of Muslims and have appealed to welcome the new government with a positive approach. They feel that there will be no discrimination and no difference between the majority and minority community. Muslims need not be afraid and instead to move ahead with positive thinking. BJP has come to power with the slogan – With all, Progress for all. So it can be expected that Yogi will not discriminate with anyone. Muslim intellectuals have expressed that at times harsh words are used in politics but if entrusted with power one has to mallows down and wants to take everybody. Anwar Jalalpuri, famous poet and related to Urdu, says that mandate of public must be accepted in democracy. Opining about anyone with judging him is not fair. The language differs during the elections and after the elections. Being the responsibility entrusted, balance is needed. So there is no reason for Muslims to be hopeless. They say that nation runs on the constitution and hope that all is well. Sahiba Anwar, former principal of Karamat Hussain PG College and writer, says that we live in a democratic country. People's mandate is supreme. It may be expected that Yogi Adityanath changes himself before changing UP. May be Yogi a Pro-Hindu leader so far but he is the Chief Minister of UP now. He has been entrusted the responsibility of every class of the state. We can't see the Hindu-Muslims separated. I believe Yogi too will do so. Talib Zaidi, senior faculty of Shia College, says the people of UP have entrusted the power to BJP for a change. Of course, Yogi is a fanatic Hindu leader. But the person fanatic to his religion doesn't disrespect another religion since any religion doesn't talk against humanity. Muslims should move ahead with a positive thinking up above the thinking about BJP and Yogi. On swearing in by Mahant Adityanath as the Chief Minister, Devbandi ulema leaders including Islamic teaching institute Darul Uloom said that Mahant has been more responsible after being the Chief Minister. He has taken an oath to take altogether. So he must honour it. I want to say that Mahant Adityanath has an inspiring track record in this regard. His most trusted attendant is an Indian orphan Muslim living with him since childhood. Mahantji has also permitted him to follow his religion. Usually people treat Gorakhnath Temple just the Hindutva centre while the temple complex is also a centre of communal harmony. Many Muslim families reside here from generations. Dwarika Tiwari, the eldest employee of Gorakhnath Temple describes this Gorakhpeeth a part of liberal tradition and says that the people trying to understand it in their own way need to see its contribution towards the social harmony. We just say that Muslim brothers should give time to Mahant Adityanath, not to decide yet. Yogiji will also have to prove that there will be no discrimination on the grounds of religion, caste and community in Uttar Pradesh. Everybody will have equal opportunities.

People’s mandate if they win; and EVM faulty if they lose
People's mandate if they win and alleging EVM tampering if they lose. Usually such type of allegations have been made by the leaders and political parties badly defeated in the elections. The latest- case belongs to recently concluded elections to five state assemblies. First of all BSP Supremo Mayawati alleged the EVM tampering behind her defeat, Akhilesh Yadav said that whatever she has said should be investigated into. Congress also took its cognition while Arvind Kejriwal alleged that his votes were transferred to Akali Dal and Congress. However had the win and lose was by the virtue of the machine, BJP should not have lost anywhere. The Election Commission is making it clear time and again that these allegations are baseless and the voting through the EVM is fully secured. It is sad that no proof of hacking in voting through EVM within last 24 years has come forward so far. Nevertheless, these people don't hesitate to level such unrestrained, baseless charges. These people don't even bother that such allegations weaken the democratic process of the nation. People's trust and belief is the topmost in the election process. Nobody should be allowed to fragment it for EVM. I wish to submit some elementary facts before the readers. Since EVM has no connection with internet, it can't be hacked online. Which EVM should be given to which booth is decided through randomization i.e. all the EVMs are arranged Parliament-wise, then assembly-wise and finally booth-wise and the polling party comes to know the series of EVM just one day before at the time of despatching. As such the polling party is not aware of the EVM to be handed over. Basically the EVM has two machines – ballot unit and control unit. Presently a third unit VVPAT has also been added which displays a slip to the voter that to which candidate he has voted for. As such the voter is assured at the booth whether his vote is valid or not. All the EVMs are confidentially checked before the voting and the EVM is used for voting only after being assured in all respects. Most importantly before commencing the voting on the polling day, mock polling before the polling booth in-charges or the polling agents of all the candidates is held by the polling party and all the poling agents are asked to cast votes so that it may be ensured whether the votes are cast in favour of all the candidates or not. Had there been any tempering or defect in any machine, it may be noticed before the polling starts. After mock polling, polling agents of all the candidates issue a certificate of proper mock poll to the polling party. Voting in the concerned polling booth starts just after the certificate is issued. As such the candidate talking about the tempering in EVM may be assured from his polling agent in this regard. Any problem like battery down or the technical one in the polling booth after the commencement of voting is informed by the voter. A register is maintained in every polling booth which contains the details of the voters who vote and the number of details contained in the register is fed in the EVM also. These are mutually matched on the basis of report from the Returning Officer on the day of counting. No case of EVM tempering has been proved so far in the cases filed in the Supreme Court so far. The Election Commission itself invites the people to come to the Commission for submitting their claims to prove the EVM technique wrong. But for the last 24 years the EVM voting has started no claim has been proved till date. People blaming the EVM for their defeat are doing so as to mislead their supporters. Perhaps they want to escape the self-reflection as well as admitting the truth that they themselves are responsible for their defeat. These leaders should review their election strategy and avoid the unrestrained allegations on the foundation of the democracy.
