Once again Children's carnage in Pakistan

Undoubtedly the time passed a year ahead but the terrorists once again slaughtered students in Pakistan. The terrorists attacked an army school in Peshawar in December 2014. 140 innocents lost their lives in this attack.

The age of the perpetrators of the attack was not much.  The terrorists were in the age group of 18 to 25 years. It is unfortunate these terrorists resorting to the violence targeted the innocent children for the sake of their politics. What did these innocents do to them? And they have faith in the same Islam under the pretext of protecting which you do the bloodshed. If an assessment is made, atleast 650 schools-colleges in Pakistan have fallen prey to the attacks of the terrorists. As per Global Terrorism Maryland America studies, amongst the attacks on educational institutions in Pakistan between 1970 – 2014 the most frightening was the attack on Army Public School on 14th December 2014 in which 140 children were killed.

The time passed a year ahead and the terrorists again slaughtered the students in Pakistan. The prestigious Bacha Khan University became the target this time. The terrorists fired indiscriminately here on Wednesday killing 25 people. Most of them are students. About 50 persons have been injured in the attack. The four terrorists involved in the attack were killed. Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TPP) has claimed the responsibility for this attack. This outfit had also killed 132 students in Army School in Peshawar on 31st December 2014. Entering the university the terrorists started firing on students and teachers. As per media reports about 60-70 students were hit on the head but it had not been confirmed. At the time of the incident, three thousand students and 600 guests were present in the university.

There are some similarities in this attack on Bacha Khan University at Charsadda in Pak and the attack on Pathankot Airbase in India. Terrorists were in the army uniform in both attacks. The assailants were of the age between 20-25 years in both attacks. The assailants wore suicide jacket in both attacks. It’s by chance that in both attacks the security forces killed the assailants and they couldn’t explode themselves. Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan’s commander Umar Mansoor has claimed responsibility for the attack. Mansoor is also called a child killer. 13 outfits had formed Tehrik-e-Taliban. It has also an aim to enforce Sharia law in Pakistan.

At the time of the attack 600 outsiders had also came to attend the Mushaira being organized on the occasion of anniversary of the Bacha Khan, the founder of the Bacha Khan University in Charsadda district 50 kms away from Peshawar. The attack has exposed the success of Pakistan army’s campaign Zarb-e-Azb. The purpose of this campaign started from the areas adjoining Pak-Afghan border in June 2014 was to finish other terrorist outfits including Tehrik-e-Taliban. Before this attack the Pak army had claimed in its website that it has hit the backbone of all the terrorist outfits including Tehrik-e-Taliban on Pak-Afghan border.

Besides their structure, sleeper cell has almost been demolished. It is clear from the terrorist attack on Bacha Khan University one year after the attack on Army Public School in Peshawar that Pak army has failed in its mission. It’s clear from the attack occurred 18 months after the operation that the terrorists’ back has not broken. It also reveals the difference between the response time of Indian security agencies and Pak security agencies.  Pathankot attack was also of such kind and our brave soldiers not only killed all the assailants but the number of casualties in the attack was also less than 10. In this attack at Peshawar officially 25 persons have died and more than 50 persons are injured. We are also surprised over this attack.

It’s the right time Pakistan should seek help of India to finish these terrorists. Terrorism has neither any religion nor any creed or caste. This attack is also a clear message for those forces (Pakistan) that differ in good and bad terrorism. Terrorism has housed in Pakistan, the fruits of the seed sown by the Pak army and ISI have now come to them. This is the appropriate time that Pakistan must eliminate these jehadi outfits from its soil.

Pakistan is also in a critical stage as the US’s Afghanistan policy has created a crisis for South Asia particularly for Pakistan and India. Despite the 13 year long efforts the US couldn’t break the back of Taliban and is now engaged in compromising to get rid of them. Taking this advantage, these terrorists have become a part of the social life there by reorganizing them and with the help of Pak army and ISI. Stating the Pak government (Nawaz Sharief) as pro-US they’ve started a war against it. As we condole at this moment of sorrow for Pakistan, it should atleast understand it that it’s benefit lies in eliminating the terrorism with the help of India.
