Widening Network of terrorism captures the entire world

-        Anil Narendra

With the terrorist attack on Kenyan University campus in April, Nigerian streets in July, during November suicide attack at Beirut, terrorist attack at Paris and now terrorist attack on the capital city Bamako in African country Mali, the entire world is slowly falling prey to the terrorism. The terrorists attacked on a five star hotel Radisson Blue on Friday last and took 170 people as hostage. Security personnel of Mali and the UN encountered the attackers for nearly nine hours. 18 dead bodies were recovered from the hotel. Two terrorists were also killed. Remaining hostages were released.  The attack occurred one week after the big terrorist attack on Paris. In 2008 the Taj Hotel at Mumbai was also attacked in the same manner.  As per reports an organization affiliated with Al Qaida, Al Murabitun has on the twitter claimed responsibility of this attack. Mali is under terror of self acclaimed jihadist extremists since 2012. Some of them are related to the terrorist group Al Qaida. Islamic State (IS) also exists in Mali which attacks at times. Terrorism is nourishing here due to weak government, army and the administrative machinery. The UN has also posted its soldiers to keep peace here which have been fallen prey to these terrorists. Besides this, some soldiers from the US and France have been posted here. In this attack in Mali, a lot of Indians were also trapped in the hotel. All Indians are confirmed to be released.  The hostages reciting the hymns of Quran were being released. IS itself is ravenous. The entire world is talking about it but there is also such an organization, ravenous and dangerous, but talked lesser of. A new report states IS and Boko Haram collectively responsible for more than half of the deaths happening due to terrorist attacks in the world. I am talking about Boko Haram. Undoubtedly the world has focused on IS but it is Boko Haram who has created the havoc of deaths. Boko Haram has so far put 6644 people to death in 453 attacks while IS put 6073 people to death in 1071 attacks. Terrorism has become a tremendous challenge for the entire world today. As per Global Terrorism Index (GTI), India stood at sixth place in 162 countries most affected from terrorism in 2014. In India terrorism related deaths have increased by 1.2 per cent and the death toll stood at 416. Now the entire world is affected by the ideology of these Islamic fundamentalists and seeks salvation from it. It is in our interest to destroy the outfits like Islamic State, Boko Haram. But the experience from Afghanistan to Iraq, Libya and Syria doesn’t confirm it that how far the western nations will be able to do so? Russian President Vladimir Putin has made a sensational disclosure that the terrorist outfit Islamic State (IS) is getting money from some nations including G-20 nations also. He claimed that this list of funding to IS contains 40 names. Putin also shared the intelligence information about the funding nations. Due to the dual policies of some nations, the entire world has become vulnerable to the terrorism.
