From Darkness to Light . . . weakening terrorism

While the terrorists are on the back foot due to the surgical strike by Indian Army in Pak Occupied Kashmir (POK), on the other hand Islamic State (IS) begins to weaken in Iraq-Syria. Although the war against terrorism may last for long, yet various terrorist organizations and their leaders need to be neutralized. Let us begin with IS in Syria-Iraq. IS is now losing ground. The Iraqi forces are fighting a last battle at the biggest den of IS at Mosul. With the help of bombardment by US Air Forces, Iraqi-Kurd soldiers have supplanted the feet of IS. Baghdadi is now hardly occupying over 28 per cent of the territory. Fleeing IS terrorists have set the oil wells on fire and Baghdadi himself has fled from Mosul. At present armies of 67 nations are fighting with the IS. India has prepared a network in 25 nations against IS and terrorism. Whatever the noise may have been created over the surgical strike in Jammu & Kashmir, India wants to leave no chance to teaching Pakistan a lesson for supporting the terrorist activities. In the last few days India destroyed four posts of Pakistan by bombing without crossing the LoC.  More than three dozen Pak soldiers are reported to have been killed in this attack. Our brave soldiers have foiled 18 attempts of infiltrations of terrorists from Pakistan. Last month the Indian Army used heavy artillery also after many years in Kupwara to knock out military posts of Pakistan. Four Pakistani posts were blown in this action in which 40 Pak soldiers were also killed. It is for the first time in 13 years that India used artillery against Pakistan. It may be noted that on 28th October, an army jawan Mandeep Singh was martyred in an encounter with terrorists trying to infiltrate in Machhil sector in Kashmir. Terrorist cut off the head of martyr Mandeep Singh. Meanwhile Pak army posts were providing cover fire to the terrorists. Because of the firmness of India  the situation in the valley has also changed. As per the security forces, 60 to 65 incidents of violence and conflict were happening per day after the death of Burhan Wani. But now this has reduced up to six to eight incidents. Situation has changed to much extent in the last one or two weeks. Security forces and the army have more control. Sources reveal that the surgical strike and the crushing responding action by the Indian army have been effective. Arms have been confiscated in many areas including Baramulla. Hundreds of people have been arrested. Consequently the people providing shelter to the terrorists are also ignoring them. Under the pressure the people holding the arms and pelting the stones are deactivating slowly. Security forces are also providing a parry chance to local terrorists on downing the arms. Appeal from Hurriyat is also losing its effect now day by day. Even in South Kashmir, the public now is not following the strike calendar of the separatists as earlier. Children are being inspired to revert back to school. Gradually the public life in valley is going to be normal. Overall the terrorism is weakening in India and the other parts of the world.
