Israeli President’s visit strengthens bilateral relations

The six day visit of Israeli President was an important step in the direction of growing relations between India and Israel. In the current global scenario, Israel and India are the vital partners in mutual strategic and comprehensive economic areas. Now India doesn’t hesitate to openly publicize its friendship with Israel. After assuming the charge of Prime Minister by Sh. Narendra Modi, India has modified relations with many such nations which were avoided to be accepted as friends. Years ago I also had the opportunity to visit Israel. But the Indo – Israel relations were not so open then. I went to Tel Aviv via a third nation. But it is gratifying that relations between Israel – India have not only opened but have strengthened more  than ever before. Israel has always helped India. When Kargil war broke out we had no shells for Bofors guns. It was Israel who supplied us the shells for Bofors guns. Israel also gave the investigating technique to our helicopters during the Pathankot attack to find out the hideouts of the terrorists. Located in the middle-east, Israel is an important nation with a point of view of global politics. The late Prime Minister Narsimha Rao contributed a lot in modifying the relations with Israel. He established diplomatic relations with Israel in 1992 for the first time. It strengthened more during the term of the Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee. Israeli President Reuven Rivlin is the first Israeli President in last 20 years to visit India. He was given a warm welcome in India. After meeting the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Hyderabad House both the leaders had dialogues on delegate level and two important agreements were signed on Water Resources Management and Agricultural Co-operation between both the nations. Since Israel is expert in the water management, as such Israeli technique will be beneficial at the places in India with shortage of water due to any reason. In last few years bilateral relations between both the nations have more strengthened, that is why the Israeli President has committed full support to India in the war against the terrorism and both the nations have agreed that terrorism is not a problem of a single nation in the global scenario for taking strict action against the terrorist network and nurturing them. Presently there is no such a nation which is not affected by the terrorism. In the strategic field, the Israeli guest said that we are ready for Make in India and Make with India. In all the visit of Mr. Rivlin has strengthened the Indo-Israel relations.
