The Special Cell of Delhi Police filed charge sheet against journalist, Syed Mohammad Ahmad Kazmi in the Tees Hazari Court on Tuesday. The Police have submitted a report on investigation conducted against Kazmi along with the charge sheet, which has been placed before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Vinod Yadav. A sticky car bomb was attached to the moving car of an Israeli diplomat, Tal Yehoshua on February 13 last. The diplomat and her driver, both were injured in this incident. This became a high profile case, as it involved a foreign diplomat and a journalist was made main accused. It is also being rumoured that the Police has made him a scapegoat and the case against him is fabricated one. The Kazmi’s bail plea went up to the High Court and now, the Police have filed the charge sheet after investigation for five months. According to the charge sheet, the conspiracy has links with Malayasia, Thailand and Israel and other places. It was a well planned conspiracy that culminated in the attack on Israeli Embassy’s car. A Letter Rogatory was issued to Georgia, Malayasia, Iran, Thailand and Israel on behalf of the Court seeking cooperation in the investigation so that additional information about accused could be made available. In the Police probe, the needle of suspicion has been on people of Iranian origin since May. During the course of investigation, the Police arrested Syed Mohammed Qazmi, a journalist with the Iranian News Agency. After Qazmi’s interrogation and enquiry into his mobile calls, name of an Iranian national, Hoshang Afsar Irani came before the investigators, who was said to be in India on the day of attack. He left for Bangkok in the evening and from there he went to Kuala Lumpur. In the course of investigation, names of Syed Ali Mahdiansadr, Mohammed Reza, Abdul Sedaghatzadeh Masoud, all Iranian citizens were also came to light, in addition to Irani. Police also claimed that such a conspiracy of attacking Israeli diplomats was also hatched in Georgia, but it was nipped in the bud. There were terror attacks in Malayasia on 14th February and Masood was arrested in this connection. So far as Kazmi’s role in the conspiracy is concerned, the Police have stated in the charge sheet that the investigation into Kazmi’s mobile has revealed that Ashraf had come to India for the attack on Israeli diplomat’s car in New Delhi. Ashraf stayed at Hotel Hi-fi, from where contacted Kazmi on phone. The Police have taken into custody the CCTV footage and other records from the Hotel about Ashraf’s stay there. After that, he purchased a scooter with the help of Kazmi and used it for recce of Israeli Embassy. The scooter was recovered from Kazmi’s house later. Then, Ashraf prepared the sticky bomb in his hotel room. During the sealing of Ashraf’s hotel-room, material used for making bomb was also recovered by the Police. Tests at CFSL proved that it was the same explosive which was used for explosion in the car. Besides, Kazmi was in touch with all the four Iranians on the day of the attack. The Police submitted proofs in this regard along with the charge sheet report in the Court. Now the matter is with the Court, and it is expected that matter will adjudicated unerringly. Delhi Police will have to prove the allegations. Since it is a matter of international dimension, we feel that Mossad, the Israeli Intelligence Agency must have been involved in the probe. The World is keenly following this case. Let’s see what happens.
