The Poor girl breathed her last after a long struggle for 13 days

Anil Narendra
The unfortunate student, a gang rape victim, breathed her last on Saturday morning after prolonged fight for life for 13 days. The Doctors of world renowned Elizabeth Hospital of Singapore, with the best of their efforts failed to save her life. In fact, her condition began worsening on Friday itself. There were indications of failure of her vital organs on Friday night. In a statement, the Chief Executive Chairman of the Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Dr Kelvin Loh said that the condition of the patient has worsened at 9.00 PM (1830 IST), her condition is very critical as her vital organs have failed to function. In fact, there was no hope of her survival. Technically, she had died in the Safdarjang Hospital itself. This whole drama was created by the Government with the objective of reaction control. The sudden Government decision to send the girl to a Singapore Hospital, when the girl had already died, would also be questioned. In fact, doctors have started criticizing this decision of the Government. According to media report, decision to send the 23 year old gang rape victim to Singapore was more inspired by political reasons than medical ones. According to the newspaper, when a decision to shift the patient to a hospital in Singapore was taken, the doctors simply asked whether the condition of the patient allowed her to be shifted. The Government did not ask the doctors’ team attending her whether she should be shifted to Singapore or not. Or, she will be given some special treatment at the Singapore Hospital  that was not available in India. The expert team of doctors included doctors from AIIMS, GB Pant Hospital and Safdarjang Hospital. The doctors alleged that it was the Government that had taken the decision to send the victim to Singapore. Doctors claimed that they were giving the best treatment to the patient for last 11 days. According to the report, the decision to shift the patient to Singapore was not taken by the doctors, but it was decided by the Government. Sir Ganga Ram Hospital of Delhi had even offered to transplant of the intestine. Doctors in India are renowned world over. Thousands of foreigners come to India for treatment. The decision to shift the girl to Singapore was politically motivated. The Government was afraid of the public reactions that would ensue the death of the victim died at Safdarjang Hospital, because had it been such, it would be very difficult for the Government to control the situation. But the reactions would also be there now. However, there is one difference. When the unfortunate student has expired, the no excuse is left with this ineffective, inactive and insensitive Government to hang all the accused. We just want to tell the victim’s family that today, whole country share their grief and we pray, may the departed soul rest in peace.
