Film is just a pretext, real problem is America

Anil Narendra
The US foreign policy, especially regarding Middle-East Asia, is being questioned these days. Today, almost whole of the Middle-East has revolted against the US. This opposition to America is fast spreading in all middle-eastern countries. The person, who has produced a film against Prophet Mohammad, is a US national. Neither there was any purpose or nor it was desired to produce such an impertinent and trash film, titled ‘Innocence of the Muslims’. India should ban this film without giving it a second thought. Sam Bacile, the producer of this film, a US national of Israeli origin, has gone underground. According to a report in Washington Post, Sam had collected a sum of about $2.8 million from about 100 Jews for making this two-hour film. Sam wrote the script of the film along with directing it. A 14-minute clip of the film, ‘Innocence of the Muslims’ was put in You Tube, which set the entire Muslim World on fire. The film is originally made in English, which was later dubbed in Arabic. Those, who have viewed the trailer of the film, claim that it had been made with evil thoughts and intentions, and with the sole objective of denigrating Prophet Mohammad. No doubt, this film proved to be a direct pretext of igniting whole of the Middle East, but the fact is that anti-US feelings were being felt in these countries for quite a long time. The Benghazi incident appears to be a part of a well-thought of conspiracy, where persons armed with rocket launchers and other heavy weapons attacked the US Embassy. They targeted the US Envoy, when he was leaving the Embassy building for a safer place or had already gone there. Most probably, the armed terrorists also had information about this safer place. But, one thing is clear that though Col. Muammar Gadaffi had been killed, but there is no effective alternative governance system in Libya. Those who had fought against Gadaffi with Western assistance were not pro-democracy organizations, but were tribes that were traditionally opposed to Col. Gadaffi. There is no doubt that the anger persists in Western Asian and Eastern African countries against the present rulers, but the problem is that neither there is any democratic institution nor any effective political power, due to long the autocratic rules in these countries. The haste with which the US has acted to remove Gadaffi, Saddam and rulers of some other countries, has resulted in such a chaos, which we witness in these countries today. The US forgot the ground reality that the destruction of the present political system will lead to anarchy. No democratic tradition was allowed to be developed in these countries. The US always maintains relations with the Sheikhs and has ignored the masses. The public in these countries is against the Sheikhs as well as the US. Even now, the US is not interested in democracy in these countries, but it wants that the new power dispositions must remain in its favour. Perhaps the anti-Islam film is merely a pretext and it was a blast of the new powerful balance in Libya. US Envoy to Pakistan, Arnold Raphel was killed 25 years ago in Pakistan and at that time, the US failed to see the warning of rise of religious fanatic terrorism in Afghanistan-Pakistan. The killings in Benghazi are not the result of crowd frenzy, but in fact it appears to be an alarm of a new danger lurking around.
